On Nov. 20, Mr. Joseph Wilhelm was recognized and thanked by the D.C. Everest School Board for his volunteer service at D.C. Everest Junior High. For the past four years, Mr. Wilhelm has volunteered countless hours working with students in the technical education classes. The Junior High welcomes and invites community experts to participate in our programs.

Do you like to perform plays with friends, try solo acting, read aloud, or write speeches? If so, you can join the Forensics Team! Our informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, after school in room 218 - Mrs. Jagodzinski's room. The Forensics Team is open to grades 8 & 9. Freshmen, who want an academic letter (earning all A's and one B+ at semester) should definitely join forensics. Forensics qualifies as an academic co-curricular requirement. Please see Mrs. J. or Mrs. Bohm in room 214, if you cannot make it to Wednesday's informational meeting.
This year students at DCE Junior High have the unique opportunity to be involved with a brand new extracurricular program called “HISTORY BOWL”! This is a national his academic history quiz competition for students. Questions about military, social, sports, science, math, fine arts history are all asked during this quiz competition. To find out more about this history quiz contest, please come to Room 116 after school for the first informational meeting and practice TODAY from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Rm. 116. You may see Mr. Ammon if you have any questions.
FBLA Candy Cane Sale! FBLA will be selling candy canes in front of the IMC this week before and after school. Candy will be delivered to homerooms on Friday. Who's your Secret Santa?
The D.C. Everest Gaming Club is proud to formally announce its 14th annual gaming convention called “EVERCON”! It will be held at the D.C. Everest Junior High, on Friday, January 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday, January 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. This year’s event will be bigger than ever! This year’s EVERCON theme is MEDIEVAL! From VIDEO GAMING TOURNAMENTS to BOARD GAME TOURNAMENTS to COSPLAYS to making CHAINMAIL, you will find it all at EVERCON. For more information on EVERCON, visit our website:www.evercon.org.Gaming Club members will be at table during both lunches today passing out informational flier about EVERCON 2014.
