We have a new principal!
Dear Parents and Guardians: It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of the D.C. Everest Junior High School. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with our staff and students. In 1997, I began my educational career teaching social studies at the D.C. Everest Senior High School. I remained with the district for ten years until I accepted an Assistant Principal position at John Muir Middle School in the Wausau School District. In my most recent position, I served as the Interim Dean of General Studies and the Learning Center at Northcentral Technical College (NTC). My wife, Tammy, teaches kindergarten at Evergreen Elementary. Together we have two wonderful children, and we take great pride in being part of the Everest community. I am very passionate about the junior high school years. Along with our staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success that has been established at the Junior High School. This is an important and critical time of transition. What happens during these two short years will have a lasting impact on the development and growth of students. We will focus on personalization of learning for students; development of challenging and engaging activities and opportunities; and building strong relationships with students, parents, and our community. As Principal, my door is always open, and I welcome your input. I encourage you to reach out to me to discuss concerns, suggestions, or any ideas you may have to help make this a great year! Through a close partnership with everyone involved with the Junior High School, I am confident we can make our school an even better place for students to learn and grow. Respectfully, Jason R. McFarlane
