On Nov. 20, Mr. Joseph Wilhelm was recognized and thanked by the D.C. Everest School Board for his volunteer service at D.C. Everest Junior High. For the past four years, Mr. Wilhelm has volunteered countless hours working with students in the technical education classes. The Junior High welcomes and invites community experts to participate in our programs.

We will be following three eighth grade students through their History Day projects. Today Jack, in his third interview, tells us more about his project.
Students who ordered sweatshirts at the beginning of the year - the sweatshirts are in! Please bring your $20 check made out to D.C. Everest Junior High or cash to room 217 to pick up your order. Additional shirts and sweatshirts are available as well.
The resource room as looking for student who want to be tutors and help others with academics. Applications are available in the Math/Science or English/Social Studies Resource rooms or in Student Services. Please return applications to a resource room by Friday, Nov. 6.
This year students at DCE Junior High have the unique opportunity to be involved with a brand new extracurricular program called “HISTORY BOWL”! This is a national his academic history quiz competition for students. Questions about military, social, sports, science, math, fine arts history are all asked during this quiz competition. Mr. Ammon is the advisor to the Junior High teams. On Saturday, January 25th, D.C. Everest will actually host a regional contest for schools from around the state. To find out more about this history quiz contest, please see your social studies teacher today to pick up a handout on HISTORY BOWL. You may also download the information from the icon on the home or student webpage. The first meeting and practice will be on Wednesday, December 11th from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Rm. 116. You may see Mr. Ammon if you have any questions.
